For whom I am always busy.

Tieing your hair, I often she

You are the one, who reflects me.

Every day your hundreds of questions and the most loving one is, “Mama when you’ll grow up, what do you wanna be?”

I say Mama grew up already.

Now the time is to look you growing happy.

Then she asks, “when I’ll grow up will you be able to recognize me?”

Of course my dear….

“But if I become Pikachu I guess you won’t
Stay as my mummy.”

World Book Day

A little thing can work big. A tiny word has a strong meaning. And there is a book, which can change the way of living.

Love for books is quite different. Because you are addicted to something good. A meaningful and remarkable book can steal your time like a wind. If you are a reader you acknowledge this.

On this particular day, I think people need to develop a reading habit to come out of rolling gadgets. A book never deceives you, a book never makes you feel lonely. To feed your mind, to express your self-taught, no doubt, a book is the best option. Choice is yours.

It may be a comic or a heavy biography, it may be a simple storybook or a novel, it doesn’t matter. What you love to read, that matters. It’s my opinion. What do you think about it?

My New Year Resolutions and Greetings to All.

The year 2020 is about to end and with the roller coaster ride of this year, this unpredictable year has changed me to some extent. Although I am optimistic about 2021, like every year I take some resolution as a ritual. The word ‘ritual’ sounds so silly here but trust me from my high school days I am doing it. I make a big list of new year resolution and several promises to myself and then my tempo slows down day by day, month by month๐Ÿคช But I never give up and next year again I prepare my list.

It’s time to be more serious. As a teenager, I never worried about my incomplete tasks. I had a mindset that there is enough time to accomplish my objective. I was like a free bird. With it’s okay kind of attitude I just moved forward without regrets. But time flies. Situation changes. Fair or unfair, every situation is yours. That carefree time vanished soon. I used to become worried about the future. Mistakes and learnings are intense to establish a standard of living.

2020 established a new normal. Life in 2020 was beyond the expectation. This year had another story. I started my very first day of 2020 with tremendous pain and discomfort with the high trigger of fibromyalgia. There was nothing optimistic about my health. It devastated me. For the first three months of 2020, I moved from one health clinic to another, from one specialist to another. And then COVID-19 hit and lockdown started. This situation changed my mindset and tried my 100% to my family. I somehow stood up against fibromyalgia and life took another turn. Living with unpredictability educated us about the significance of physical and mental health. New norms and new habits developed. Moreover, the most important thing was healthy living and being grateful to Almighty for providing us mental, physical and financial strength.

New Year’s resolution with new learning. Certainly, learning a lot of recent things will help me make these resolutions for the coming year. I am about to think twice about it because this time I am obliged to set something very important.

1.Cutting of toxicity from life.

There were some very serious issues in our social life due to some toxic mind. I faced some surprising creatures at the very first stage of this pandemic situation. Those who spread hatred in society are not a part of my social relation anymore. Similarly, those who try to add negativity in my life will be avoided. I cannot stop them but I can ignore them. So, no to toxicity

2.Priority to mental health.

Mental health matters, more or less we all have some issues and it should not be neglected. Stress, anxiety, depression are frequently using terms nowadays. I will feed my mind as I am determined to take a healthy diet for both mind and body. The best thing I found to feed my mind is reading books. I have a list of books which I am going to read throughout the year. I know, as a fibromyalgia fighter I need to keep my mind positive to stay fit and healthy.

3.Family goals. As a parent and as a wife I have many responsibilities. My son is now a big boy. He is now 12 years old. This stage is very crucial for him as well as for me. He needs proper guidance for his fast-growing mental and physical health. My daughter is only 5 years old and she is about to complete her first year of school without going to school for a single day. In the lockdown period, we keep our children away from the unnecessary use of electronic gadgets. It happened only because of their obedient nature and our previous strategies. I am determined to provide my son with his first mobile phone after his 10th. In 2021I will focus on my children’s study and physical fitness. They need more physical and mental training and for that, we are going to start their Yoga classes. In 2020 it was impossible to send them anywhere but I hope the coming year will be better and productive for them. They need more space and a more constructive direction, for that, I am setting a few to do with them.

4.More savings. This pandemic taught us the value of savings. I feel this time we need to more serious about our savings. I am taking a resolution to cut down some needless expenses. More savings for more financial stability, this is my viewpoint.

5.To be a facilitator in the matter of finance. For some reasons, I have opted to be a stay at home mom and quit my job. But this time I know that I can add some financial value to our living. Working from home is another innings of my life.

6.Read more and write more. Yes, as a blogger I get my kick in reading and more I read more I write.

Conclusion

The list is not so long but the resolutions are strong. hope for the best. May 2021 bring peace and prosperity to our lives. It is hoped that soon the whole world will be freed from this invisible enemy.

Childhood is the golden period of life.At this period a child must get optimum care from parents and family .But dealing with a child’s psychology is not so easy.Childhood is the period where a child has no limit on learning .The learning capacity of a child is unpredictable.It depends on the surrounding people and environment whether it can add value to a child’s life or not.

Children need motivation too.

To build positivity in a child need motivation.But the kind of motivation is different from adult.We adult have lots of problems. Our main problem is our ego. But a child doesn’t have ego. That’s why  he immitates others unconditionally. But the biggest problem rises here.He does what he observes.If a child is guided properly it can lead to greatness. But the reverse is also true.

It depends on their parents,guardians,teachers or caregivers how they introduce the world to a child. A positive approach is always needed.ย  Because the potentiality and possibility in a child is abundant.

Some of us have a big issue with our children that they do not respect others or they are very fussy. They do not like to do their work properly.

Children may have behavioural problems in the growing stage. But sometimes adults choose the wrong way to deal with these problems. As a result they demolish them. This creates another problem.

A negatively led child may lack confidence. Whenever some are highly self-motivated and parents do not need to worry for them.All that is required of them is proper guidance to maintain their confidence.

Know the ways to motivate a child.

Today’s children are extremely energetic and fans of the fantasy world. It is a really difficult task for them to execute their vast landscape.They have an another interesting imaginary world. Where they want to fly,fight and form.They live far away from reality. It is very important for them to introduce the real world. Because in reality there is no Doraemon gadget.

1.Introduce to them the real heroes.

Let them enjoy the Fantasy world but don’t forget to introduce the real heroes to them. There are many real stories where real people created history.Encourage your child through stories of real heroes. Let them read or watch or describe those inspiring stories.

2. Listen to your child.

It is important to know what your child wants to say to you. So listen to that. Pay attention to what he said. We usually ask our children to listen to us. But we do not do this for them. As a result they stop interacting with us.They start feeling worthless. This hurts their little heart.Our attention to them uplifts their mindset.

3.Eye contact.

Make sure your child communicate well with others . For that, train them to make eye contact.This will develop his self confidence.Eye contact is a non verbal communication language which helps not only young children but the adults too to express themselves confidently. Learning this skill from an early age will be helpful for a lifetime.

4.Encourage your child instead of control.

It is good to control your child to some extent but it should not be negatively affected. You should avoid to control their emotions. Give them the space to express their emotions. Try to deal with their emotions with encouraging words. Praise them on their good works. Praise their efforts not their results.Use appropiate words to encourage them. But don’t praise them lavishly.This is also harmful.

Encourage them to learn from their failure. Do not show your sympathy or anger on their failure. Train their mind to look forward with past learnings. Let them feel the disappointment. Because a little disappoinment works positively for them. The pain of a little disappointment or failure provides an opportunity to develop life skill. Look at the opportunity not the pain.

5.Physical strength for mental strength.

It is important to your child to be physically healthy to develop mental muscles.Healthy body for healthy mind. Work on your child’s physical strength. Healthy diet,regular exercise should be followed from an early age.Minimize screen time and try to engage them in other activities like outdoor games, pretend games, creative works.

Children are our future.It is our prime duty to build our future strong. Prepare them for life from a young age. There are many points to add to this, but according to me the above points are definitely helpful towards boosting the mental strength of children.

Arohi’s Birthday..

Yesterday, 15th November was my little munchkin’s 5th birthday. It was a beautiful day, well spent with her favourite people.

Arohi was so excited to celebrate her birthday and on her demand, her youngest Aunt(my youngest sister) made an Elsa cake for her.It was really a delicious and lovely cake.

There was a small family dinner with my two sisters and my nephew. We go out for dinner and spend some quality time altogether. Here I am sharing some moments with you all.

Minimize Kids Screen Time In This Pandemic Situation

The outbreak of COVID-19 hit affected the whole world with some unpredictability.It was beyond our imagination.Some countries are trying to normalize and some are still stuck. Social distancing and isolation is now the new normal.

In this pandemic situation parents are facing lots of challenges to raise their kids.All of sudden the whole scenario has been changed.Before the pandemic, kids were not allowed to bring mobile phones to school and now schooling is going on mobile phones.The situation has maximized kids screen time and we have no other choices.

It is known that digital space is no longer safe for young children.Lots of issues are rising with this.Not all, but most kids already have an addiction of mobile/digital space.At this point it is the toughest challenge for parents to raise kids. Due to less physical activities and home isolation it becomes more worse to deal with their demands.It has increased parents struggle to mantain kids mental and physical health.

As a parent how I reduced my kids screen time?

Like almost every mother I was always aware of my kids interest.I tried my level best to increase their interest in other activities.Besides mobile games,YouTube videos,TVshows they love to read books,make cartoons and also drawing.This helped me a lot to shift their interest from digital space to other activities.

Some steps really helped me.

1.Kids immitate us.So I choosed to read books rather than using mobile phone infornt of them.This helped me and my kids equally. Thankfully I have cultivated reading habit since my childhood.Now my kids are also developing this habit.

2.Buy atleast two new books in a month.Kids love new things.But that doesn’t mean that you need to buy new things for them frequently. But in case of book it is good to buy new books to increase their interest in reading.I use to buy atleast two book in a month to encourage them.Due to the new book they try to finish their old books first.This makes me really very happy.

3.They are bound to use screen to do their school activity.But I never allow them to use our phones without permission.

4.Ask for help in my house chores.I use to take help from them. I have assigned some particular works for them on regular basis e.g. folding their clothes,arrange study table,make the bed,watering plants.Since my elder son is 12 years old,he can guide his younger sister who is now 5 years old and they too enjoy their company.

5.Encourage them to explore their creativity.Every kid is unique.He or she has a unique quality. But it is important to know what is that.Parents plays a vital role in exploring their kids creative mind.When you idendtify the quality of your kids,you should encourage them to be more creative. I have realised that my kids love to draw and I give them a comfortable space to do it. Along with that space I always encourage them to be more creative.Now they have adopted it as their hobby.

6.Time table.It is not possible that your kids will totally avoid digital space. But you can reduce the use of gadgets by making a time table. Like their study time table there should be a strict time table for Television or mobile/computer.I am doing this and it really helps me.Now my kids watch TV twice in a week for maximum two hours.For computer games, the same instruction they follow. With this they are also happy. By getting a pre set time table they never get fusrated to quit their game or show.

7.Gadgets are not only for fun, these are educational tools also.This is the reason for which we can’t totally avoid gadgets.We should teach our kids the importance of gadgets.They should know that gadgets are not toys. For that, parents should avoid using their mobile phone,tablets or other gadgets infornt of kids,for their entertainment.

There are some horrifying data in internet about kids and teens gadgets addiction.Where young kids spend approx 6 hrs and teens spend more than 9 hrs with gadgets in a day.Is it acceptable for parents?For sure ‘No’.

Conclusion.

We can make excuses by saying our kids are stubborn,they are out of control.But with few commitment and dedication we can control their screen time before they get out of control.It is possible to live an active and healthy childhood with limited use of screen time for our children.With this realization, I put my efforts to minimize my kids screen time and I succeed it.

Self- esteem is what we feel about ourself.We all have self-esteem but it depends on our attitude.Our self-esteem can be low, high or average .So here are three very basic and easy steps through one can boost his/her self-esteem.

1.Love yourself.

Yes…love yourself.Don’t say nobody loves me or takes care of me.You need to love yourself and take care of youself. First you must think that you have a value.You are special. You are not ordinary,you are extra ordinary. Believe in yourself and start to love yourself as you are.Don’t make complains like..I am not good looking or I am very short or fat or whatever.Create your inner beauty and for that you need to love yourself. When you love yourself ,you feel good about yourself and when you feel good then you can find good about others and you start to like other.If like others,they will like you too.This will boost your self-esteem up and up..

2 Make positive auto-suggestion.

We always talk to ourself.Our mind never stops and most of the time we say negative things to us. So convert those negative talks to positive. For example instead of saying I can not start say I can.When you make some suggestions for yourself it should be positive. Say I can do this or I am special, I am a strong person, I am a fighter.God is protecting me or Universe is protecting me.When stop negative thinking and start positive thinkig you will see the change in yourself which will make you happier than ever. And this will help you to boost your sel-esteem.

3.Self discipline

You know self discipline is the key to success. When you maintain a disciplined life style people will respect you. A self disciplined person is respected by all. To be a self disciplined person you must take care of your health. You must have an control over your action and reaction. You can give yourself some tasks to complete them in a particular period. This type of practices make you self disciplined . Being self disciplined one can easily give up his/her bad habits.

So,start with these basic steps and be a high self-esteemed person. Your life is going to change by changing some little things.
